E-Challenge.ch 5on5 Tournament is done!

April 20th, 2008 Thyton/ArchsageVal

After less than two months the first 5on5 DotA-Tournament of E-Challenge is finished!

E-Challenge.ch, a site known for a lot of CS 1.6 tournaments and a lot of small and big tours in Swiss and Germany recently finished their first DotA 5on5 Tournament, even with a small prizepool compared to tournaments and leagues like MYM PDL and DBL/ENADC the signup got filled pretty fast and when the tour started, we have been happy to have over 60 teams from 15 countries in the brackets, featuring names like Mousesports, XsK, SK-DotA, mymF, eXcello, w4sp, redSkyand many more.

Overall the teams played their games in the schedule and so the tournament went smooth and without big delay untill the Grand Final between Mouz and XsK, over 400 people tuned in at GGTV to watch the final games and after a long fight Mouz managed to win the tournament and will take home the 5 QPads.

Even though the QPads arent the biggest prize ever seen in a DotA tournament, still this win ment a lot to the still very young team Mouz, which has been in the news quite a lot, so we caught up with their leader for a small statement:

Kim ‘Drayich’ Larsson:

“When we lost the games in Pride 9 we were in horrible condition, both skillwise and spiritwise. We didnt have fun and we didnt create anything good, i decided to take over the team at that point when Kog left and we have worked alot on both the spirit and the individual skill during this time. Finally we get something for our efford and it feels like we are a strong team now, strong and hungry for wins”

Because of the big popularity of DotA nowadays, E-Challenge.ch decided to host the next 5on5 Tournament very soon, this time with more prizes, more teams and a bigger coverage!

News about Xero Skill.

April 20th, 2008 Thyton/ArchsageVal

Xero Skill after increasing their roster some time ago wanted to give themselves a moment to get the chemistry with the additions up. Seems like it worked out nicely, as XsK is recently performing very good!
Roster changes

After embodying the additions, former SK-Gaming Swede ZeBob and Team Canada Leader mO-, they seem to have a strong team spirit and coordination. Hence further reinforcements of another former SK-Gaming player, Edvin ‘KwoM’ Börjesson, also Swede. Moreover, Argentinian Alex ‘Metro’ Katz joined XsK as their new manager.

Last game

KwoM was fast incorporated, and in the last game, third place tie breaker in ESL I against eMazing, he was fielded in starting five. eMg recently might lost some players, but they are still a force to be treated with highest respect. Pulling a straight 2-0 win, Team XsK proved to be in good shape and KwoM to be a good addition. You can find replays with ban/pick order in our database, Game 1 here and Game 2 here.

Future

With such a huge roster XsK can participate in vast majority of events that are going on at the moment, and with their current high form we can expect them to lay a lot of good DotA. Although one thing is still uncertain - ESWC requires at least three players from same country for national qualifiers, XsK can field two at most, and international qualifiers are at the moment uncertain. Time will tell, let’s hope we will see them participating in the offline finals!

Hi2u signed, Check-Six reopens a DotA division!

April 20th, 2008 Thyton/ArchsageVal

One of most well known American multi-gaming clans is returning to DotA.

Throughout the history of competitive DotA Check-Six Gaming had several teams, their roster underwent numerous changes, last lineup faded shortly after Yoda, Samurai and Zujio left. Final roster, called by prejudiced the ‘most unmannered team’ consisted of JollyJoker, Mike, ezy, HighTimes, SwissBeatZ and OwnaGe-JuiCe.

Now Check-Six returns to DotA, picking up no other than hi2u. Some players have been in the organization before, like merc and Inspire also known Yoda. That leaves the current roster looking as follows:

Tim “iSH” Chin (Leader)
Alex “wtfmate” Nguyen (Co-Leader)
John “merc” Pham
Richie “YuRiTag” Woo
Jimmy “Demon Ho”
Eugene “Chouji” Sung
Steve “durty” Nam
Orie “Inspire” Guo

GosuGamers wishes best of luck to the new Check-Six!

Mouz welcomes XeqtR, the CS pro on a new area!

April 20th, 2008 Thyton/ArchsageVal

Mousesports decided to add one more name to their roster, after having the known WC3 player ToD playing for them in some matches, they now added a well known CS player to their roster!

Not only Norwegian Jørgen “XeqtR” Johannessen is a living, yet retired, legend when it comes to Counter Strike, as it turns out. He was seen playing DotA for the Norwegian National team in last Prime Nations. After playing some good games in IHCS, got approached by Kim “Drayich” Larsson, who added him shortly.
“I am sure he is gonna be a good addition to the team
- Drayich’s statement about XeqtR
Mousesports roster:
mouz|Drayich (Captain)
mouz|blutgeiL
mouz|Fragalot
mouz|Miracle-
mouz|PlaymatE
mouz|Twisted
mouz|XeqtR

Here is a short statement from Mousesports Captain, Kim “Drayich” Larsson:
As a DotA team you really need to have a lot of players, and I knew that we needed one more player already when I’ve added twisted. XeqtR has worked very well and became a member of the mouzfamily during his “tryout” period and I am sure he is gonna be a good addition to the team.
GosuGamers would like to wish XeqtR best of luck on his new way of DotA.
